The Alliance is gearing up for Vail Honeywagon's Party for the Planet, on Saturday, May 14 at the Brush Creek Park in Eagle. Come out and celebrate spring with us! There will be free live music, Crazy Mountain brews, tree planting, a recycled art show, yoga in the park , an expo with green vendors and local nonprofits, and tons of kids' activities throughout. Proceeds from the event benefit the Alliance and Walking Mountain Science School.
After the festivities on May 14, we'll be back to focusing on our garden pursuits. We are excited to have a plot in the new West Vail Community Garden, which reminds us that we need to get going on our backyard compost. And if you are anxious to start composting or learn how to improve your compost, the Alliance is hosting a Backyard Composting Workshop on May 24 and 26 at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. Looking forward into the summer, the Alliance will be featuring "Energy Month" in June, offering several energy-related events.
