Details:
The Gore Range Natural Science School will be hosting their annual fundraiser, Open That Bottle Night at the Vail Casacde Resort on Saturday, Feb 27 starting at 6:30pm.

Thanks to Wall Street Journal wine editors Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecker, Open That Bottle Night is an event celebrated around the world the last Saturday of February. Gaiter and Brecker launched Open That Bottle Night as an opportunity to gather in small or large groups and celebrate friendship over bottles of wine always inteded for a for a special occasion, but never opened. Open That Bottle Night is often a time to close the door on world events and focus on talk of wine, travel and friendship. The editors of WSJ suggest that the real point of the night is not really a once a year celebration but a reminder: seize the day. Every day is an opportunity to create new memories that will be celebrated in years to come.

In 2007, Gore Range Natural Science School hosted it’s first-ever Open That Bottle Night in Vail. The fourth annual event returns on February 27, 2010.

The evening's activities include presentation of the Founders Stewardship Award, by Alpine Bank, live and silent auctions and entertainment by Tony Gulizia at the piano, accompanied by hometown favorite and LA star Mercedes Dauphinais.

Honoring the tradition of Open That Bottle Night, please bring a bottle of wine to share with your tablemates. Additional wine will be available to supplement your special bottle.

We also encourage you to e-mail your favorite wine story to Natalia (nataliah@gorerange.org) for publication in the evening program. All stories will also be sent to the Wall Street Journal.

The event will include live and silent auction items such as a dinner for 10 prepared by Luc Meyer at the home of Susan and Rich Rogel, Kelly Liken Dinner for 8 at the home of Ann & Jim Frein, an Overnight Photography Hut Trip for 8 with John Fielder and Paragon Guides, a Dan Ostermiller sculpture, "Après la Danse" valued at over $10,000 and much more. Make sure to visit the website for a complete list of silent auction items.
