Great Fly Fishing is Just Around the Corner here in the High Country!

by Mark Sassi, Guide, Gore Creek Fly Fisherman

Well folks, it’s beginning to look a lot like summer, everywhere I go. With snow melt at an all time high and holding steady for the past five weeks, the grass on Riva has finally reared its beautiful smile and good fishing is right around the corner. I say this with baited breath because one night of cold temps followed by hot days will jack up the river like it was two days ago. Let’s all bow our heads in silence and hope that the runoff is finally over and us river people can get back to making a living the only way we know how and that is guiding clients on our wonderful rivers.

When runoff hits we all have the option of fishing Stillwater, but most people get real bored real fast just sitting there so we hope that the Stillwater option is finally out of the question and we can return our clients to the rivers that so many of us and you call home.
