What a warm and striking difference to ride the Gondola from Lionshead to the top of Vail, arriving without the encumbrances of winter gear, the only gear being a back pack with food, lots of water, a goretex shell, sunscreen and the ever present camera.

Hiking East along the ridge, with Gamecreek Bowl on my right, the views are just spectacular.  Wild flowers popping out in the Bowls, numerous bird species and the sound of the wind drive a symphony of their own

Just a short distance below, in reality, Vail Village hums with the start of the summer, as we welcome our summer guests who come in search of world class golf, the best fine dining in Colorado, outdoor concerts and more.  For now though, that all fades away in a quiet two hours on top of the world.  The contrast and diversity of what Vail has to offer truly provides a world class experience for every sense.
